Recently, SIT reaped several prizes at the martial arts and boxing competition of Shanghai Sunshine Sports League and National Cheerleading League, including the city-level first prize for collective Kung Fu fan and second prize for duo Kung Fu fan sized by the martial arts team and “third-time championship” won by the cheerleading team, fully demonstrating the solid competitiveness and aspiring spiritual outlook of SIT students and adding another glory to the sports education of SIT.
Martial arts team: traditional martial arts shine again with gold and silver medals reaped from Kung Fu fan event
On May 24, the martial arts and boxing competition of the 2025 Shanghai Sunshine Sports League took place at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. SIT’s martial arts team participated in the event under the guidance of the delegation head Zhao Chunai and coaches Wu Di, Ding Minqiang and Song Yapei, where players won the first prize for the collective Kung Fu fan and the second prize for duo Kung Fu fan with their solid skills and perfect cooperation.
Players perfectly integrated the romantic charm of Kung Fu fan with strength through uniform movements and combination of inflexibility and yielding, as every fan waving and each step demonstrated their solid martial arts skills and deep understanding of the traditional martial arts culture.



Cheerleading team: third-time championship at the national competition is a testimony to youthful vitality in full blossom
From May 28 to May 30, the 2025 National Cheerleading League jointly sponsored by the gymnastics administration center of the General Administration of Sport of China and Chinese Trampoline and Sports Acrobatics Association kicked off at the School of Sports and Health of East China Normal University (Minhang Campus). The event attracted nearly 120 delegations and over 3000 athletes from across the country, with each delegation demonstrating superior skills and aspiring spiritual outlook amid competitions of various sizes.

16 cheerleading team players won the first prize for optional exercises in three events of duo ballflower cheerleading, duo hip-hop cheerleading and collective ballflower cheerleading in the youth group C under the guidance of the delegation head Song Yapei and coaches Ding Jiamin and Pan Xiufen, marking eye-catching breakthroughs.

Not only does what’s achieved from the training ground to the podium represent the recognition of sports education achievements made by SIT, the achievements made by teachers and students with painstaking efforts and perseverance even more vividly reflect the team spirit of “teamwork, continuous improvement and responsibility foremost” of SIT, a carbon copy of SIT’s practice of educating people through sports.
